Glad to see Dist 150 trying to combat the negative vibe that has run rampant throughout the community. I get sick of all the badmouthing. Sure, the District has problems, but so do many other school districts.

Despite various problems, there are many, many success stories, and it's nice to see an open house on that theme, "Celebrating Our Success." Hey, I graduated from Manual HS and didn't turn out all that bad :)

I agree with you about D150. There are problems, but there are many great schools and dedicated, hard working teachers.
Plus, the high schools have many electives that smaller school's lack.

Stand back, but I agree also. My boys both graduated Manual High School and one is a teacher now. The other is a senior at Bradley and they got their training for college from District 150. Never hear success stories only the 1% that cause the crime. By the way, both were 1 and 4 in their graduating high school classes. The oldest was Magna Cum Laude at ISU. Whew, now I feel better. :)

Our son will be entering Kindergarten (yikes)this Fall and I am proud that he will be going to District 150. The Kindergarten round-up was well orchestrated and the teaching staff was very engaged and enthusiastic. I can't wait and feel certain we will be pleased with the District. If not, I will work hard to identify the problems and instate change where needed.

We went and it was pretty cool. The kids had a blast and I love seeing all of the different artwork and obvious dedication from the staff.
